Etta Mae Cardwell Allen

Mrs. Etta Mae Cardwell Allen, 89, of Winter Garden, Florida passed away March 20, 2016 in Hartford, Alabama with her family at her side. 

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. EST on Wednesday, March 23 in the Ocoee Church of Christ in Ocoee, Florida. The family will receive friends at the church one hour prior to service time. Interment will follow in Winter Garden Cemetery with Sorrells Funeral Home & Crematory of Slocomb directing. 

Mrs. Etta Mae Cardwell was born on October 7, 1926 in Coffee Springs, Alabama and is one of ten children of Oscar and Alma Cardwell. She married Rube Thomas Allen and together they have two daughters, Ruby Allen Drake and Linda Allen Cook. 

She is preceded in death by her husband, Rube Thomas Allen; daughter, Linda Allen Cook; granddaughter, Arlene Cook; three sisters: Vesta Linzey, Bessie Smith and Ollie Mae Johnson; six brothers: Elmer, Harold, Earnest, Selma, Marion "Red" and James Cardwell; nephews: Daniel and Randolph Cardwell; and one niece, Nellie Cardwell.

She is survived by one daughter, Ruby Allen Drake of Hartford, Alabama; granddaughters: Geannell Suehr and Wanell Drake Calhoun; one son-in-law, Raymond Cook of Hartford, Alabama; grandson, Dale Cook; granddaughters: Teresa Cook Miller, Pam Cook Brush, Robin Cook Simmons, and Helen Cook Shanes; as well as a host of great and great-great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and other special family and friends.
