Ernest “Terry” Spivey of Fadette, AL passed away unexpectedly at home December 5, 2015. He was 66.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, December 10, 2015 at Sorrells Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Gene Hauser and Rev. Coley M. Holloway officiating. Burial will follow in the Christian Home Baptist Church Cemetery with Sorrells Funeral Home & Crematory of Slocomb directing.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m.
Terry was born February 23, 1949 in Hartford to the late Ernest Earl and Gloria Donna Holloway Spivey. Terry grew up in the Fadette community and worked all his life in the painting business. He was a member of New Hinson Baptist Church. He was a loving husband and father and will be missed by all.
Survivors include his wife, Margaret Spivey of Fadette; his children: Waylon Spivey (Dinah) of Slocomb, Carrie Sorrells (Jeff) of Lee’s Summit, MO, T.J. Spivey of Panama City, FL, and Tom Leonard of Dothan; one sister, Cathy Powell of Montgomery and brother, Paul Spivey (Diane) of Taylor; seven grandchildren: Weston, Dylana, Dawson, Zandy, Zack, Daisy, and Rebecca; six step-children: Sheryl Bell (Mark), Candace Phipps (John), Dixie Plumbley (Jeremy), Susan Edwards (Mike), John Walker and Kimberly McGriff (Rodney); several nieces, nephews, and other extended family and friends.
Pall Bearers will be Weston Spivey, Zack Sorrells, Jeff Sorrells, Paul Spivey, Rodney McGriff and Phillip Green.
The family would like to thank Slocomb Fire & Rescue for their valued efforts.
