Mrs. Emma "Jo" Farmer Peters of Hartford passed away Monday, October 26, 2015 at her home surrounded by her loving family. She was 78.
Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Thursday, October 29, 2015 in the chapel of Sorrells Funeral Home & Crematory in Slocomb with Rev. Stacy Turney and Rev. Robert Gilley officiating. Interment will follow in the Hartford City Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday beginning at 1:00 p.m. and continuing until service time.
Jo was born December 7, 1936 in Geneva County to the late Harmon and Effie Lee Pelham Farmer. Jo was a loving wife, caring mother and adoring granny who will be dearly missed.
In addition to her parents, two brothers: Milburn and Foster Farmer preceded her in death.
Survivors include her husband of 60 years, Henry Hayward Peters, Hartford; daughters: Cindy Peters, Hartford and Lisa Peters Branton (Gary), Dothan; grandchildren: Spenser Peters, Schyler Branton Lang (Bruce) and Ridge Branton; one sister, Ruth Peters; several nieces, nephews and other extended family and friends.
