Mr. James Wallace Peters of Slocomb passed away Saturday, October 10, 2015 at Gulf Coast Regional Medical Center in Panama City, Florida.  He was 80. 

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 am , Tuesday, October 13, 2015 at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church with Rev. Scott Byrd officiating and Don Clark delivering the eulogy.  Interment will follow in the church cemetery with Sorrells Funeral Home & Crematory of Slocomb directing.  The family will receive friends at the Pleasant Hill Baptist Church on Monday from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. 

James was born May 4, 1935 in Houston County to the late John Wallace and Eddie Lee McKinney Peters.  He enjoyed playing his guitar and singing the "Old" country music and his world revolved around his family.  He was a loving husband, caring father and adoring grandfather and will be greatly missed. 

In addition to his parents, three sisters: Sara Grace Peters, Carolyn Peters Galloway and Martha Peters West preceded him in death. 

Survivors include his loving wife Sylvia Chancey Peters, Slocomb; daughters: Linda Hodges (Mitch), Slocomb, Sheila Killingsworth, Dothan and Charlotte Walden (Jerry), Slocomb; sons: Ronnie Peters (Vicki), Hartford, James Peters, Cowarts and Maxwell Peters, Dudley, NC; 13 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren; siblings: Dan Peters (Sonja), Phillip Peters (Betty), Gerald Peters (Dorothy), Bobby Peters (Donna), David Peters (Karen) and Vicky Peters Jimmerson (Jack); several nieces, nephews and other extended family and friends. 

Mr. Peters grandsons will serve as pallbearers.

Sylvia, My deepest condolences to you and your family. May God hold you in his loving arms and give you the comfort you need. I wish I could attend the service, but I won't be able to because I have to have my office open tomorrow for deliveries. Take care and let me know if I can do anything for you.
