 Mrs. Ernestine Gencie Arnold Rhodes of Dothan passed away Tuesday, August 18, 2015 at SAMC. She was 82. 

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, August 21, 2015 in the chapel of Sorrells Funeral Home & Crematory in Slocomb with Dr. Brent Parker officiating. Interment will follow in the New Teamon Baptist Church Cemetery. 

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday beginning at 10:00 a.m. and continuing until service time. 

Mrs. Rhodes was born December 5, 1932 in Geneva County to the late Dewey and Nettie Halstead Arnold. She was a graduate of Slocomb High School. Earnestine was a dedicated member of Selma Baptist Church. She loved the Lord and her family and enjoyed spending time with the ladies bible study class at Stone Creek Landing every Tuesday. She possessed a very kind and selfless spirit and will be dearly missed by all those who loved and knew her.

In addition to her parents, her husband, J.B. Rhodes and two brothers: Billy and Bruce Arnold preceded her in death. 

Survivors include her sister, Gwendolyn Collins (Milton), Dothan; stepdaughter, Teresa Johnston (Thomas), Chickasaw; two grandchildren: Kris Coburn (James), Daphne and Bart Johnston (Jamie), Auburn; three nieces: Stacie Rolf (Todd), Malvern, Melissa Holman (Keith) and Tina Gumms (Jamie) both of Dothan; nephew, Scot Arnold (Kathy), Dothan; other extended family and friends.
