Herman E. Myers

Saturday, February 27, 1932 - Monday, July 13, 2015

Mr. Herman E. Myers of Slocomb passed away Monday, July 13, 2015 at his home.  He was 83. 

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, July 15, in the chapel of Sorrells Funeral Home & Crematory in Slocomb with Pastor Lee Chorn and Dr. J. Chris Adams officiating. Interment will follow in the New Teamon Baptist Church Cemetery.  

The family will receive friends at the funeral home Tuesday from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m. 

Flowers will be accepted or contributions may be made to Gentiva Hospice or the New Teamon Baptist Church Cemetery Fund. 

Herman was born February 27, 1932 in Geneva County to the late Cazey and Mallie Bass Myers.  He was a dedicated servant of Christ, loved his Savior and was an active member of New Teamon Baptist Church.  Herman possessed a selfless spirit and freely gave of his time and energy to those around him. He worked with Standard Oil Company and retired from Exxon after many years. He was also very active in the Lions Club.  As a proud United States Army veteran, Herman served his nation honorably at home and abroad, including a tour in the Korean War.   

Survivors include his loving wife Ann Myers; daughters: Wanda Fischer (Sam), Linda Reid and Haley Trimnel; step-children: Mark Trimnel and Carla Adams (Chris); grandchildren: Michael Childree, Jason Reid, Stephen Fischer, Amy Reid, Hannah Hendrix (Nathan), Christopher Adams (Shelby) and Josh Adams (Kaley), great grandchildren: Kara, Simeon and Jeremiah; other extended family and friends. 

Serving as pallbearers: Kristopher Adams, Michael Childree, Jason Reid, Billy Reeder, Sam Moss and Naethan Hendrix.
