Mr. Warren Loraine Griffin of Wicksburg went home to be with the Lord Sunday, May 17, 2015 at Westside Terrace. He was 104.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, May 20, 2015 at Pilgrim Home Baptist Church with Rev. Teddy Ward and Rev. Buddy Hood officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery with Sorrells Funeral Home & Crematory of Slocomb directing.

 

The family will receive friends at Pilgrim Home Baptist Church on Tuesday from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m.

 

Flowers will be accepted or the family requests that you honor Mr. Griffin's memory with donations to the Pilgrim Home Baptist Church Building Fund, 13534 W U.S. Hwy 84, Newton, AL 36352.

 

Mr. Griffin was born August 24, 1910 in Dale County to the late Alto Warren and Linnie Brooks Griffin. He was a distinguished World War II Veteran and was one of the first inductees of the Army Air Forces. Loraine was a wonderful and loving husband, father and grandfather who will be dearly missed.  

 

In addition to his parents, two brothers: Louie Frank and Leslie Griffin preceded him in death.

 

Survivors include his loving wife of 74 years and 10 months, Kathleen Byrd Griffin, Wicksburg; two daughters: Kay Driskell (Connel), Wicksburg and Enid Sikes (Wayne), Birmingham; four grandchildren: Ronnie Driskell (Michelle), Wicksburg, Gene Driskell, Wicksburg, Kimberley Yeager (Scott), Fairhope and John Cauthen (Michele), Atlanta, GA; seven great-grandchildren, one great-great grandchild; extended family and friends.
