Mr. Jimmy Ray Skipper of Slocomb passed away Monday, February 9, 2015 at Flowers Hospital. He was 70.  

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, February 12, 2015 in the chapel of Sorrells Funeral Home & Crematory of Slocomb, with Pastor Thomas Kyser officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday beginning at 10:00 a.m. and continuing until service time. 

 

Mr. Skipper was born March 1, 1944 in Geneva County to the late Curtis and Cerella Holland Skipper. Jimmy was a loving husband, father grandfather and great-grandfather . In addition to spending time with his family, he enjoyed playing bingo with his wife and friends. 

 

In addition to his parents, his son, Jimmy Ray Jr.; two brothers and one sister preceded him in death. 

 

Survivors include his loving wife of 54 years, Callie Skipper, Slocomb; one daughter, Jacqueline Colley (Richard), Ft. Gaines, GA; two sons: Rufus Skipper, Slocomb and Frankey Skipper (Dorris), Chancellor; two sisters: Glenda Sue Giddings, New York and Faye Lamb, Indiana; three grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews and other extended family and friends.
