Mr. Gary Lynn Rogers of Fadette passed away Tuesday, January 13, 2015 at his home surrounded by his loving family. He was 61. 

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, January 16 in the chapel of Sorrells Funeral Home with Rev. Dennis Singletary officiating. A private burial will follow in the Mt. Calvary Baptist Church Cemetery with Sorrells Funeral Home & Crematory of Slocomb directing. 

 

In lieu of flowers, the family request, that contributions be made to Gentiva Hospice, 2740 Headland Ave, Suite 1, Dothan, AL 36303 in Gary's honor.

 

Mr. Rogers was born in Houston County on October 31, 1953 to the late James Allen and Marjorie Newton Rogers. Gary was a loving husband, wonderful father and grandfather. He was a dedicated and hard worker and always provided for his family.

 

Survivors include his loving wife of forty-four and a half years, Jeanette Rogers; two sons: James Ryan Rogers and Bryan Wylie Rogers; two grandchildren: James Tanner Rogers and Kaylin Mary Rogers; brother, Donald Rogers (Paula); nieces, Crystal and Tracy; four great nieces and one great nephew; other extended family and friends.

 

The family would like to express their gratitude to Karen and Tammy of Gentiva Hospice for the care and love that was so freely given to Gary during his illness.

Jeanette, I am so sorry to hear of Gary, passing. Gary, and I were classmates at Slocomb School. He was always the greatest person that anyone could be, know wonder you fell in Love with a person like him. Gary, would put a smile on your face at all times. I know that you will miss seeing him around the home, but you will always have his loving memories to hold onto. Do not say goodbye, but will see you a little later.
