Mr. Johnny Harold King of Slocomb passed away Saturday, December 27, 2014 as a result of injuries sustained in an automobile accident. He was 54.
Graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, December 30 at Slocomb City Cemetery with Rev. Larry Newton officiating and Sorrells Funeral Home & Crematory of Slocomb directing.
Johnny was born October 29, 1960 in Pike County to the late Clarence Lawson King and Annie Medley King. The youngest of ten King children, Johnny possessed a kind spirit, had a loving heart and enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. He was an avid hunter and fisherman as well as an Alabama Football fan. "Roll Tide" He was loved by all and will be dearly missed.
In addition to his parents, a step father, DeWitt Freeman and a brother, Wayne King preceded him in death.
Survivors include a son, Matthew King, Slocomb; sisters: Sallie Clackley (Buddy), Panama City, FL, Patricia Berry (Steve), Slocomb, Faye Greathouse (Larry), Wicksburg and Diane Battles, Slocomb; brothers: James Earl King, Clio, Clarence King Jr., Jacksonville, FL, Samuel King (Pat), Dothan and Wendell King (Suzanne), Ft. Walton Beach, FL; several nieces, nephews, and other extended family and friends.

I've known Johnny since 2000 in the construction industry. He will be greatly missed. My prayers go out to the family for their loss.

I am very sad to here about Johnny. I will miss seeing and talking to him.
Johnny was always very helpful in ever helping me when that I asked him. He was a very smart man and anything he set his mind to he could do.
I am glad I got to know him in the short time of meeting him. He was truly a person that offered his help with no price tag attached. I will miss him as I know you all will.
