Mr. Fate Wood of Dothan passed away Sunday, December 21, 2014 at the SAMC. He was 83.
Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Tuesday, December 23, in the chapel of Sorrells Funeral Home & Crematory in Slocomb with Rev. Eddie Littlefield and Rev. Thomas Harrison officiating. Interment will follow in Pondtown United Methodist Church Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home Tuesday from 2:00 p.m. until service time.
Fate was born October 13, 1931 in Geneva County to the late Noah and Ruby Lee Dixon Wood. Fate was a loving husband, father and grandfather and will be dearly missed. He was a proud United States Marine Corps veteran.
Survivors include his loving wife, Annette Wood, Dothan; two daughters: Sandra Glass (Randy), Dothan and Kelli Brannon, Dothan; one son, Steve Wood (Angie), Jacksonville, FL; three brothers: Bual Wood (Louise), Eufaula, Rev. Franklin Wood (Betty), Malvern and David Wood (Susan), Taylor; seven grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; several nieces, nephews and other extended family and friends.

Fate -- was a very good friend and a great neighbor. We have been neighbors for over 20 years-his whole family are great people!! God bless the family and God Bless Fate. Thank him for his service!!!
