Mr. Carl "Lehmon" Hatcher of Hartford went home to be with the Lord Sunday, November 23, 2014 at his home. He was 95.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, November 25, in Highfalls Assembly of God Church with Rev. Charlie Earl Glover and Rev. Billy Joe Glover officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery with Sorrells Funeral Home & Crematory of Slocomb directing.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Monday from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m.
Lehmon was born September 15, 1919 in Geneva County to the late George Washington and Elvira Smith Hatcher. Lehmon was engaged in farming for many years and owned and operated Oak Grove Mall. He loved the Lord and was a dedicated member of Highfalls Assembly of God Church. Lehmon was a devoted husband, caring father and grandfather who will be dearly missed.
In addition to her parents, his loving wife of 74 years, Cora Glover Hatcher; two sisters: Blondell Benefield and Ester Mae Catenhead preceded him in death.
Survivors include one daughter, Mary Helen Gilstrap, Otto , NC; three sons: Henry Hatcher, Hartford, Rev. Eugene Hatcher (Joyce), Hartford and Edward Hatcher (Lorrie), Black; eleven grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; three great-great grandchildren; three sisters: Jeanette Brannon Morris, Hartford, Juanita Palmer and Jean Simmons both of Geneva; several nieces and nephews; and other extended family and friends.

So sorryto hear about Mr Lehmon ,I bet a lot of people in heaven are smiling today. He was a wonderful person and loved by many . he will always live in our hearts, Thinking of you all, Eward, Eugene,Helen, Henry.

Edward, I just found out about your dad's passing. My heart, prayers, and love are with you. I can still hear him laughin tho I haven't seen him in sometime and not to mention rememberin all of the times he used to laugh and joke with me when I'd stop by the store. If you only knew of the conversations he and I had bout you your toes would curl,hahaha. He was just one in a million and I'm glad I knew him.
