Nancy Sallans

Mrs. Nancy Ann Sallans of Slocomb went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Friday, February 21, 2025, at her home. She was 73.  

A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Saturday, March 8, 2025, at the First United Methodist Church of Slocomb with Dr. Joe Bush officiating.

In lieu of flowers, the family request that memorial contributions be made to the Slocomb Senior Center, PO Box 1147, Slocomb, AL 36375. 

Nancy was born on June 8, 1951 in Nebraska City, NE to the late Robert and Evelyn Damme Hope. She earned her Bachelors Degree in Elementary Education and Early Childhood Development from Kearney State College. She began teaching 2nd grade at Dodge School in Grand Island, NE and taught for more than 33 years. Nancy and Dale were married on October 7, 1977, and they spent over 47 wonderful years together.   Nancy touched many lives through her teaching, quilting, friendships in church, and at the Senior Citizens Center in Slocomb. She was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother who will be missed by all who knew her.

Nancy was preceded in death by her parents, her brothers: Gordon, Jon, and Alan.

Those left to mourn her passing are her husband, Dale Sallans of Slocomb; daughter, Jessica Peterson (Casey) of Ozark, son Nathaniel Sallans (Bethel Marie) of Tallahassee, FL; grandchildren: Breanna Rivera (Kevin) of Ft. Hood TX, Clark Peterson of Huntsville, and Archer Peterson of Ozark; uncle, Raymond Damme of Nebraska City, NE; and nieces, nephews, and other extended family and friends.
