Mrs. Reva Marie Kelly Durbin of Hartford passed away at her home on Friday, February 14, 2014. She was 91.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, February 17, at Shiloh Baptist Church with Rev. Ricky Hall and Rev. Robert McMicken officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery with Sorrells Funeral Home & Crematory of Slocomb directing.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from on Sunday from 3:00 until 5:00 p.m.
Flowers will be accepted or contributions may be made to Shiloh Baptist Church Youth Department, 873 Shiloh Road, Hartford, AL 36344.
Mrs. Durbin was born in Illinois on February 4, 1923 to the late Tony Bryan and Millie Ludice Selock Kelly. Mrs. Durbin was a devoted Christian and a member of Shiloh Baptist Church, who left a legacy of reaching out and caring for others. Along with her late husband, she possessed a deep compassion for troubled youth and many times opened her home to them. She was a mother, not only to her own children, but to her siblings, nieces and nephews as well. A loving and kindhearted soul she will be greatly missed.
In addition to her parents, her husband Beryle J. Durbin; one brother, Harmon Kelly and one great grandson, Trevor Hyde preceded her in death.
Survivors include four daughters: Karen Hyde (Noel), Edgewood, IL, Donna Stolte, Hartford, Joyce Moore (James), St. Elmo, IL and Joy Kirkland (Joseph), Hartford; two sons: Albert Durbin (Linda), Brownstown, IL and Earl Durbin (Beth), North Pole, AK; two sisters: Vera Miller, Altamont, IL, Eileen Osborne (Robert), Vandalia, IL; one brother, Joe Kelly (Eleanor), Brownstown, IL; sixteen grandchildren; several great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren; nieces, nephews and other extended family and friends.
