Mrs. Shields was born December 2, 1938 in Geneva County to the late James Marion and Lola Teresa Price Shields. Kathryn, as she was known by many, led a fulfilling life. She loved the Lord and being with her family most of all. Kathryn was a wonderful cook, and delighted in preparing delicious meals for family gatherings. Traveling the world was another pastime she enjoyed. She made many memorable trips throughout the US, Europe, and Central America. She was a loving mother, and grandmother who will be dearly missed.

In addition to her parents, two brothers: Troyce Shields (Fay), Opelika, and Gerald Shields (Patricia), Marianna, FL; an infant sister, Sarah Helen Shields; great granddaughter, Tali Burditt, Houma, LA all preceded her in death.

Survivors include four children: Connie Walker (Charles), Hartford, Kenny Tindell (Stephanie), Hartford, Carl Tindell, Dallas, TX, and Michelle Culp (Donnie), Headland; thirteen grandchildren: Steven Walker (Jessica), Jennifer Richards (Jeremy), Kayla Burditt (Ronald), Kenneth Tindell (Wendy),  McKayla Haynes, Thomas Tindell, Cooper Ashcraft, Marsha Tindell, Lester Tindell (Tonia),  Corinne Solis,  Natalie Faulk, Haydyn Murphy (Michael), Lindsey Worthington (Storm); eleven great grandchildren; one great-great grandchild; nieces, nephews and other extended family and friends.

The family would like to express their sincere appreciation for the staff of Hartford Retirement Village, Hartford Healthcare, and Southern Care Hospice for their care and dedication in her final years
