Dorothy Maxine Carpenter

Friday, September 6, 1940 - Friday, June 21, 2024

Mrs. Dorothy Maxine Carpenter of Wicksburg, formerly of Eufaula, went home to be with the Lord Friday, June 21, 2024.  She was 83. 

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, June 24, 2024, at Piney Grove Assembly of God Church with Rev. Bobby Hagler and Rev. Billy Fortune officiating.  Interment will follow in the church cemetery with Sorrells Funeral Home of Slocomb directing. 

The family will receive friends on Sunday at the funeral home from 4:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. 

Mrs. Carpenter was born September 6, 1940, to the late Ruth Nelson White and Mack W. White Sr. Dorothy was a great woman of faith and dedicated servant of Christ. She was a loving wife and adoring mother and grandmother who will be dearly missed. 

In addition to her parents, her husband, Rev. Charlie W. Carpenter, Sr.; one daughter, Charlotte Jernigan; one granddaughter, Michaelynn Carpenter, all preceded her in death. 

Survivors include two daughters:  Charlene Brice (Chip), Dothan, and Chrystal Carpenter (Trista), Wicksburg; three sons:  Charlie W. Carpenter, Jr. (Sherry), Virginia Beach, VA, Christoper Carpenter (Christine), Uniontown, OH, and Curtis Carpenter (Kim); nineteen grandchildren; thirty great grandchildren; one great-great granddaughter; one brother, Wilson White, Sylacauga; several nieces and nephews and other extended family and friends.
