Steve Lamar Benefield Sr of Hartford went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Saturday, June 8, 2024 at Flowers Hospital. He was 70

Funeral services will be 11:00am on Tuesday, June 11, 2024 from Sorrells Funeral Home Chapel in Slocomb with Pastor Tony Wood officiating. Burial will follow in the Highfalls Assembly of God church cemetery with Sorrells Funeral Home of Slocomb directing.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday beginning at 10:00am and continuing until service time. Flowers will be accepted or contributions could be made to the Freedom House, P.O. Box 850, Slocomb, Al 36375

Steve was born October 13, 1953 in Hartford to the late Max Benefield and Jean Hatcher Simmons. He was self employed as a brick mason for a number of years. He loved spending time with his family. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Debbie Ingalls

Survivors include his wife, Lonnie Benefield, daughter, Jennifer Ward (Jerry), son: Steve Benefield Jr. (Summer), grandchildren: Aubry Benefield (Anna), Lauren Temple (Jordan), Micah Benefield, Madison Ward and Gracie Ward, sister: Diane Jones, numerous nieces, nephews and other extended family and friends.
