Mr. George Larry Toole of Slocomb passed away Sunday, March 10, 2024 at his home. He was 86. 

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, March 13, 2024 at New Hinson Baptist church with Rev. Teddy Ward and Rev. Brian Klobe officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery with Sorrells Funeral Home of Slocomb directing. 

The family will receive friends at the church on Wednesday beginning at 1:00 p.m. and continuing until service time.

Flowers will be accepted or contributions may be made to New Hinson Baptist Church, County Road 48, Slocomb, AL 36375 or Alzheimer’s Association, 225 North Michigan Ave., Floor 17, Chicago, IL 60601 in memory of Mr. Toole. 

Mr. Toole was born September 22, 1937 in Geneva County to the late George A. and Eva Register Toole. Following Larry’s graduation from Slocomb High School, he continued his education at Troy State where he earned his Bachelor’s Degree in education. He began his teaching career at Fadette Junior High School, later teaching in Daleville. Larry later begins another career in the automobile business for a number of years. He was a member of the New Hinson Baptist Church. He was also an avid Alabama football fan, loved fishing and traveling with his family. Mr. Toole was a loving husband, father and grandfather and will be dearly missed. 

In addition to his parents, siblings: Ralph Toole and Loudean Wilson preceded him in death. 

Survivors include his wife, Barbara Toole; daughters: Jane McSwain and Ann Chancellor (Wayne); son, Ted Toole (Julie); grandchildren: Josh McSwain (Rebecca), Tyler Chancellor (Megan), Isaiah McSwain (Kirstin), and Anna Marie Moore (Ralston); great grandchildren: Keith, Levi, and Teegan McSwain, Blakeley, Heidi, and Nash Chancellor, Lydia McSwain and Riggs, and Eva Claire Moore; nieces, nephews, other extended family and friends.
