Mrs. Johnnetta E. Baskin of Dothan passed away Sunday, October 29, 2023 peacefully in her home surrounded by her children. She was 58. 

Celebration of Life Service will be held at 12:00 noon, November 4, 2023 in the chapel of Sorrells Funeral Home in Slocomb with T. Lynn Oliver officiating. 

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Saturday beginning at 11:00 a.m. and continuing until service time.

Mrs. Baskin was born August 30, 1965 in Columbus, Ohio to the late Roosevelt and Donna Stevens. Johnnetta was educated in Military Human Resources and earned a bachelor’s in psychology from Troy University. She served 23 years in the United States Army. Following her retirement from the military she continued to serve here country as a government civilian. Her careers allowed her to travel worldwide. Mrs. Baskin cherished her family and friendships. She shared her love through cooking and entertaining. Johnnetta leaves her loving touch and memories with her close friends and family. 

In addition to her parents, her brother, Quentin Watterson preceded her in death. 

Her legacy continues through her daughter, Channell Palmer; son, Kenneth R. Baskin Jr.; grandchild, Cayden Q. Neal; brother, Kevin Stevens; other extended family and friends.
