Rudy was a Navy veteran of the Korean War where he served on the destroyer USS O’Brien. Rudy’s life was filled with family. Whether it was his dad and mom, brothers and sister, wife and children or grandchildren and great-grandchildren, he loved them all. His favorite times were sitting in his backyard under the mango tree talking to his family in person or on the telephone. Rudy was a good neighbor and spoke easily to all he came into contact with. His faith in God was evident to all that who knew him. He has a lasting legacy of children and now grandchildren who serve the Lord in ministry helping others to come to know his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. There is no doubt that when he entered heaven’s gates he heard the words, “Welcome Home!”

His wife of 55 years, Dorothy; parents, James George and Johnnie Stembridge. Brothers: Comer, Homer, Wilson, George, Charles, Travis; sister, Willadene; grandson, Adam Talbot all preceded him in death.

Survivors include daughters: Suzette Keller, (Michael) April Talbot (Gralen), Miriam Williamson (Mark), and Patricia Tremblay (Paul).  Sons: Melvin Rudolph “Rudy”, Jr. (Cyndie), and James George Stembridge (Linda). 19 grandchildren and 54 great-grandchildren. brother; John Madison Stembridge; nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
