Mrs. Terri Lynn Sorrells of Hartford went home to be with her Lord on Friday, August 18, 2023 at her home. She was 64.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, August 20, 2023, at Shiloh Baptist Church with Rev. J. Robert McMicken, Dr. Michael Mynatt, and Rev. Stacy Stafford officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery with Sorrells Funeral Home of Slocomb directing.
The family will receive friends at the church on Sunday from 1:00 p.m. until service time.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that you honor Terri Lynn’s memory with your contribution to the Shiloh Baptist Church Cemetery Fund, the Benevolence Fund at Hillcrest Baptist Church, Enterprise, or DaySpring Hospice.
Terri Lynn was born August 29, 1958 in Geneva, Alabama to the late Ben and Grace Tindell Bottoms. Following her graduation from Geneva County High School in 1975, she took various business courses at George C. Wallace Community College and began a 17-year career with City Bank (now Friend Bank) in Hartford. Later, she earned a business degree (Cum Laude) from Troy State University. Along life’s journey, Terri Lynn fell in love and married Terry, and then began an extended and successful career navigating the day-to-day business administration of three separate funeral homes with the help of her dear friend, Roxie Doster until her retirement in 2014. Terri Lynn was a longtime member of Hillcrest Baptist Church in Enterprise where she had served as a Sunday school teacher for several years.
In addition to her parents, a son, Casey Lee Sorrells, and a grandson, Logan Casey Sorrells, all preceded her in death.
Survivors include her loving husband, Terry G. Sorrells, Hartford; stepdaughter, Wendy Sorrells Andrews and her husband Mark, Dothan; son, Kerry Lee “Bubba” Sorrells, Prattville; grandchildren: Brooks Andrews, Cooper Andrews, Rosemary Andrews, and Cameron Lee Sorrells; sister, Diane Kimbro, Hartford; brothers: Ronald Bottoms (Beth), Don Bottoms (Candie), and Frankie Bottoms (Susan), all of Hartford; special friends: Tammy Byrd and Starla Brannon; numerous nieces, nephews, and other extended family and friends.
