Mrs. Linda Gail Watson of Dothan passed away Tuesday, August 15, 2023 at Flowers Hospital. She was 65. 

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, August 19, 2023 at Rehobeth Baptist Church with Rev. Chad Hixson officiating. Burial will follow in the Pleasant Hill Baptist Church Cemetery with Sorrells Funeral Home of Slocomb directing. 

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday, August 18, 2023 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. 

Flowers will be accepted or contributions made in Gail’s honor to the Rehobeth Baptist Church Building Fund. 

Mrs. Watson was born August 17, 1957 in Dothan to the late Taylor Lee “Sam” and Bonnie Mae Blount. Gail was a 1975 graduate of Slocomb High School. She met the love of her life, Stephen in 1972 and married June 28, 1975. She worked in medical billing at SAMC, Breathing Care, and Flowers Hospital for 21 years. Gail was a member of Rehobeth Baptist Church, and she enjoyed working in AWANA. Loved going to gatherings with the Jolly Elders, and the Women’s Ministry. Gail loved to bake and was known for her 15-layer chocolate cakes. She loved camping and spending time with her family especially time with her granddaughter, Taylor who was the sparkle in her eye. Mrs. Watson was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and friend who will be dearly missed. 

Gail was a courageous, strong woman who battled cancer for two years. The family would like to thank the staff of Dothan Hemotology and Oncology, Dr. Scott McAllister, and Kate Medheim, CRNP for their kindness and dedication to Mrs. Watson. 

In addition to her parents, special nephew, Dwayne Fugate preceded her in death. 

Survivors include her husband, Stephen Watson; daughter, Amanda Barron (Jonathan); granddaughter, Taylor Leigh-Ann Barron; sister, Sandra Watson (Gerald); special niece, Stephanie Atwell (Steve); special nephew, Rodney Fugate (Teresa); special great nephew, Clay Pope (Jayde); other extended family and friends.
