James Michael Ellis, 68, of Clermont, Florida formerly of Dothan, Alabama and Cedar Springs, Georgia passed away July 3, 2023, in Orlando, Florida.  

Mike was born December 26, 1954, in Blakely, Georgia. He attended Early County High School - graduating class of 1972. Mike joined the USAF after graduation serving his country proudly. After earning his cosmetology degree, he began a career as a stylist. Mike loved his clients and his work family.  Mike was a loving father to his daughter Heather and “Papa” to her children Bailey, Lawsynn, and Chasynn.  He was dearly loved and will be missed immensely. Mike enjoyed his independence and frequently traveled to exotic locations, making friends at every stop. He loved riding his Harley Davidson to the Waffle House every morning and visiting with his breakfast family. He loved his Georgia Bulldogs Football “Go Dawgs”!  

Mike is preceded in death by his mother Katie Wiley Ellie and father Samuel Tilton Ellis. 

Survivors include daughter Heather Michelle Andrews (Martin) and grandchildren Bailey, Lawsynn, and Chasynn brother Tommy Ellis (Suzanne) and sister Helen Southall, and several nieces and nephews. His Hair Cuttery family members Nikki, Debbie, Kristina, Rose, Donna, Janeth, Linzy, Joanne, Candice, and Kailey.  He also leaves behind his fur babies Nanu and Bitsy who he loved so much.   

Memorial Celebrations will be held at Beulah Baptist Church in Cedar Springs, GA, Saturday, July 29th, 2023, at 11:30 AM. The family will receive friends at the church from 11:00 AM until service.
