Larry Carter

Mr. Larry Carter of Hartford passed away Thursday, June 1, 2023.  He was 76.  

A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, June 6, 2023 in the chapel of Sorrells Funeral Home in Slocomb.  Interment will follow in the Hartford City Cemetery.  

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday from 10:00 a.m. until service time.  

Flowers will be accepted or memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association, P.O. Box 840692, Dallas, TX 75284-0692. 

Larry was born in Ozark, AL to the late John Foyal Carter, Sr., and Willie Lee Leger. He enjoyed spending time outdoors and was a hardworking man. Larry loved spending time with family and friends and will be dearly missed.

In addition to his parents his loving wife of many years, Patricia Ann Childs Carter, and brother, Foyal Sanford Carter Sr. all preceded him in death.  

Survivors include his daughters: Patricia Dana Mixon (Ronnie), Slocomb, and MaryAnn Howell-Davis (Brad), Lebanon, TN; sons: Larry Dennis Carter, Jr., Hartford, and Kevin Lee Howell (Laralei), Ozark; grandchildren: Leann Svoboda, Nickolas Mixon, Lukas Mixon, and Madyson Mixon; great grandchildren: Atticus Svoboda, and Violet Svoboda; several nieces, nephews, cousins, and other extended family and friends.
