Mr. Larry E. Morgan of Slocomb passed away peacefully at home with his family on Thursday, May 18, 2023. He was 76. 

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, May 21, 2023 at Bethesda Baptist Church with Rev. Don Haddon and Rev. Lamar Creel officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery with Sorrells Funeral Home of Slocomb directing. 

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Saturday from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. 

Mr. Morgan was born February 19, 1947 in Graceville, FL to the late Tolbert Grady and Mary Etta Smith Morgan. Larry graduated from Slocomb High School in 1965, was employed with Van Heusen for 25 years, and retired from Brackin Appliance. He served in the National Guard for six years. Larry enjoyed spending time working in his garden and on his land. He played men’s softball and loved going to watch his granddaughter, Makenzi play basketball and softball and was an avid Alabama fan. His favorite place was sitting on the balcony at the beach. He was a member of Bethesda Baptist Church. Mr. Morgan was a loving, husband, father and grandfather who will be dearly missed. 

In addition to his parents, his brother, Bobby Morgan preceded him in death. 

Survivors include his wife, Margie Morgan; three sons: Michael Morgan (Angela), JR Carroll (Faye), and Allen Morgan (Katelyn); grandchildren: Robbie Carroll, Shannon Watson, Tiny Givens, Maci Jordan, Hunter Morgan, Makenzi Morgan, and Luke Tipton; sister, Lanette Clark; sister-in-law, Sue Morgan; several nieces, nephews, close friends, and other extended family and friends.  

Pallbearers will be members of the Slocomb Fire Department.
