Harry Reeder

Mr. Harry Reeder of Slocomb passed away Thursday, May 4, 2023 at his home. He was 74. 

A memorial service will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Sunday, May 7, 2023 at New Teamon Baptist Church with Rev. Lee Chorn officiating and Sorrells Funeral Home of Slocomb directing. 

The family will receive friends at the church on Sunday beginning at 2:00 p.m. and continuing until service time. 

In lieu of flowers contributions may be made in honor of Mr. Reeder to New Teamon Baptist Church, 3813 South County Road 85, Slocomb, AL 36375. 

Mr. Reeder was born January 16, 1949 in Hartford to the late Maxie Daniel and Jewel Glaze Reeder. Harry graduated from Slocomb High School in 1967, he was one of the most feared on the football field. He served in the Army National Guard, loved farming, working with his cows, an avid outdoorsman, and had a love for coon hunting that he passed on to many others. Harry would be the first one to fire up a grill, to volunteer to help those in need throughout the community. 

In addition to his parents, wife, Sheila Justice Reeder and brother, Billy Reeder preceded him in death. 

Survivors include two sons: Tracy Reeder (Amy); Stacy Reeder (Dedee), and grandchildren: Chase Reeder, Wade Reeder, Max Reeder, and Luke Reeder; twin brother, Larry Reeder (Carol); sister, Barbara Sue Price (Larry); special nieces, nephews and other extended family and friends.
