Mr. Freddie Paul Harrell, age 77, passed away after a brief illness on Saturday, April 29, 2023. He was born on September 26, 1945 in Houston County, Alabama to Wilmer C. and Sybil West Harrell.
Mr. Harrell was a resident of Freeport, Florida having moved to “The River” in 2016 after growing up and living most of his life in Slocomb, Alabama. He proudly served the Army National Guard for 39 years. He earned his private pilot license in the 1980’s – flying was his passion. He was a free spirit that loved his family and friends deeply.
Mr. Harrell was preceded in death by his father and mother; brother Charles A. Harrell; and sister-in-law Eura Harrell.
Mr. Harrell is survived by his loving wife Bobbie Crook Harrell of Freeport, Florida; son Rusty Harrell and wife April of Valdosta, Georgia; daughter Dusty Harrell Guess and husband Neil of Dothan, Alabama; two step-sons Charlie Crook of Orlando, Florida, Trey Crook of Dothan, Alabama; one sister Carolyn and husband Rusty Beck; three grandchildren Shelby Elder and husband Kyle, Jordan Paul Harrell and wife Sarah, Samuel Harrell and wife Amanda; several great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
A Celebration of Life Service for family and friends will be held at 6:00 PM, Friday, May 12, 2023 at Sorrells Funeral Home; 1315 Harris Highway, Slocomb, Alabama 36375 and at 4:30 PM, Saturday, May 13, 2023 at his home; 72 Lucky Lane, Freeport, Florida 32439.
