Mr. Jerry Byrd of Slocomb passed away Friday, April 28, 2023 at Flowers Hospital. He was 65.
The family will celebrate his life with a visitation of family and friends at Sorrells Funeral Home in Slocomb on Tuesday, May 2, 2023 from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m.
Mr. Byrd was born April 14, 1958 in Geneva County to Margaret Jean Holloway Byrd and the late Frank Byrd. Jerry enjoyed all sports and was an avid Alabama football fan. He had a green thumb and could grow anything. Jerry possessed a kind and loving spirit, adored his wife, children, and grandchildren, and will be dearly missed.
Jerry was preceded in death by his father, Frank Byrd, and siblings: James and Lynda.
Survivors include his wife, Donna Killingsworth Byrd; mother, Margaret Jean Holloway Byrd; daughter, Jennifer Harris (Gabriel); son, Joey Byrd (Candi); grandchildren: Gavin Harris, Isabella Byrd, Rickey Lee, and Bentley Byrd; sisters: Margie Morgan (Larry), and Carolyn Anderson; brother, Terry Byrd; numerous nieces, nephews, and other extended family and friends.
