Mr. Kenneth Rex Holland of Dothan passed away Tuesday, September 27, 2022. He was 64.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, October 1, 2022 in the chapel of Sorrells Funeral Home in Slocomb. Burial will follow in the Burns Assembly of God Church Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Saturday beginning at 10:00 a.m. and continuing until service time.
Mr. Holland was born August 26, 1958 in Dothan, AL to Winsell and Mary Frances Hughes Holland. Kenneth was widely known as Coach Ken. He coached baseball, football, and basketball with Dothan Leisure Services and other youth sports organizations for over 45 years, having won dozens of championships in all three sports and other accolades along the way. Kenneth had a true passion for mentoring and coaching the youth and investing in their future. He made friends with all of his former players and their parents and positively impacted many families over the years. He was an avid Auburn fan, loved to sing country karaoke, enjoyed providing handyman services, and spending time with his family.
In addition to his parents, sister, Frances Diane Holland, and niece, Saige Makenzie Holland preceded him in death.
Survivors include, grandsons: Alexander and Jakob McCall; his sister, Lisa Marie Holland; nephew, Stephen Holland (Sarah) and Stephen’s two sons: Elijah and Noah; special friend, Charlotte Brackin; other extended friends and family.
