Mrs. Mildred Collins Adkison of Slocomb went home to be with the Lord, Friday, February 18, 2022 at Arbor Springs Health and Rehabilitation Center in Opelika.  She was 87. 

Mrs. Adkison was born June 2, 1934 in Geneva County to the late Hosea Thomas and Sophia Regina Davis Collins.  Mildred and her husband Billy, worked on their family farm together for over 50 years.  They shared a common passion, a deep love for their daughters: Margaret, Lisa, and Grace and that love held them together for 54 years.  Mildred was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother who was loved by many and will be dearly missed. 

In addition to her parents, her husband, Billy Adkison; sisters: Ruth, Frances, and Bonnie; brothers: James, Buren, Raymond, and Hosea Paul, all preceded her in death. 

Survivors include daughters: Margaret Baxley (William Duane), Lisa Stallings (Michael), and Grace McDuffie (Terry); grandchildren: Jason Baxley, Travis Baxley (Kaitlyn), Elizabeth Stallings Young (Alexander), Anna McDuffie Bush (Jeff), and Caleb McDuffie; great grandson, Brooks David Baxley; sister, Yuvawn Holland; brother, Hilton Collins (Elvie); many nieces, nephews, and other extended family and friends.
