Mr. Jimmy Pitt Silavent of Slocomb passed away Saturday, January 29, 2022 at his residence. He was 83.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, January 31, 2022 at First Baptist Church of Slocomb with Rev. Brad Price officiating and Rob Hinson delivering the eulogy. Burial will follow in the Slocomb City Cemetery with Sorrells Funeral Home of Slocomb directing.
The family will receive friends at the church beginning at 1:00 p.m. and will continue until service time.
Mr. Silavent was born November 4, 1938 in Coffee County to the late Jason C. “Red” and Mattie Pearl Jones Silavent. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Slocomb.
Survivors include his wife, June Silavent; son, Ronnie J. Silavent (Darla), Slocomb; Rhonda J. Yeomans (David), Slocomb,; grandchildren: Amanda Bond (Jason), Wicksburg, Deanna Lester (Trent), Slocomb, Jason Silavent (Kyli), Slocomb, and Mason Silavent (Aarin), Panama City, FL; great grandchildren: Addison and Parker Bond, Whit and Gary Lester, and McKenna and Madelyn Silavent; brothers-in-law: Joe Tate (Brenda), Wayne Tate (Sheryl), and Don Tate (Cindy); sister-in-law, Jacki Branton (Elijah); several nieces, nephews, several special cousins, and other extended family and friends.
