Mr. Harold Gene Cardwell of Hartford passed away Tuesday, November 02, 2021 at his home. He was 75. 

Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, November 5, 2021 in the chapel of Sorrells Funeral Home of Slocomb with Rev. Tom Chestnut officiating. Interment will follow in the Black Community Cemetery with Sorrells Funeral Home of Slocomb directing. 

The family will receive friends beginning at 1:00 p.m. and continuing until service time. Flowers will be accepted. 

Harold was born in Orange County, Florida on August 6, 1946 to the late Harmon Harold and Jimmie Hall Cardwell. He graduated from Geneva High School and retired from the Army National Guard. Harold was very family oriented and loved all the time he got to spend with his grandbabies. Harold loved fishing, classic cars, and spending time at the racetrack. He was a member of the Geneva Community Church where he served in many capacities. 

Survivors include: his wife of 38 years, Delores Cardwell, his son; Michael Cardwell (Kim), his daughter; Janie Coggins (Joshua), four grandchildren and, his sisters; Margaret Mixon (Wayne), Margie Justice, and Marie Davis, his brother; Jerome Cardwell (Cindy), numerous great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and also his faithfull K-9 companions, Rufus & Rowdy.

My condolence to the family. Harold was a loving guy. May God guide the family to be together enjoying all the memories of Harold, that will always be in your heart. He always thought of others before himself. The last time I saw & spoke to him was when he drove miles to come to my daddy's (Frank Mott) services in 2016. Harold was always a blessing to be around. May he rest in peace
