Buck Kelly Perkins

Mr. Buck Kelly Perkins, Jr. of Slocomb passed away Tuesday, October 26, 2021. He was 80 years old. 

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, October 29, 2021 in the chapel of Sorrells Funeral Home in Slocomb with Rev. Truman Scarborough officiating. Burial will follow at Whitaker Cemetery in Slocomb with Sorrells Funeral Home directing. 

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday beginning at 1:00 p.m. and continue until service time. Flowers will be accepted or contributions can be made to The Alabama Baptist Children's Homes.  

Mr. Perkins was born November 26, 1940 in Katlettsburg, Kentucky to the late Buck Kelly Perkins and Julia Stout Perkins.  Mr. Perkins grew up in Piqua, OH and moved to Slocomb, AL in 1980. Mr. Perkins retired from Golden Peanut after 25 years of service. Buck enjoyed playing golf, camping and spending time with his family and friends. 

He was preceded in death by his wife of 55 years, Patricia Perkins. 

Survivors include his children: Robert Perkins (Cheryl), Tampa, FL, Edward Perkins (Marilyn), Dothan, AL, Bucky Perkins, Xenia, OH, Steffanie Morris, Daleville, AL and Celeste Welejski (Mike), Dothan, AL; grandchildren: Taylor Perkins, Kayla Perkins, Blake Perkins, Samantha Perkins, Michael Perkins, Rebecca Morris, Jamey Perkins, Gracie Perkins, Kylie Welejski and Ellie Welejski; other extended family and friends.  The family would like to thank the staff of Westside Terrace for their loving care of Buck.
