Mr. Thomas Hubert Ford of Slocomb passed away Saturday, May 15, 2021 at Southeast Health. He was 79. 

A Private Graveside Service will be held with Sorrells Funeral Home of Slocomb directing. 

Mr. Ford was born June 24, 1941 in Rockport, IN to the late Eugene S. and Frances Lucile Huff Ford. Tom loved his family and time with children and grandchildren. His joy was his beloved wife whom they enjoyed 59 years together. He graduated from Rockport High School in Indiana in 1959, and later received his Bachelors in business from Webster College. Tom joined the U.S. Army in 1959 where he served as an Infantryman and helicopter mechanic. He served in CONUS, Korea, Germany, France and Vietnam. Later joining the U.S. Army Reserve where he achieved the rank of Command Sergeant Major (CSM) and retired in 1999 with 37 years of honorable service. CSM Ford was a highly decorated Soldier receiving numerous awards culminating with the Legion of Merit (LOM). Tom Ford retired from the U.S. Civil Service with nearly 40 years of service where he finished his career at Cairns Air Field in Ft. Rucker, AL. 

In addition to his parents, his great-granddaughter, Kindred Ford preceded him in death. 

Survivors include his wife, Gloria Annette Ford; daughter, Belinda Ann Ford; sons: Thomas E. Ford, and Anthony D. Ford; grandchildren: Thomas R. Azar, Michael Azar, Tiffany Ford Edwards, Trent Ford. Gunnar Ford, Taylor Ford, and Katie Swanson; great-grandchildren: Hayden Ford, Mila Ford, Ava Ford, and Samuel Swanson; other extended family and friends.
