Monday, March 12, 1945 - Monday, January 11, 2021
Jeannine Smith of Dothan, AL lost her battle with COVID-19 on January 11, 2021 at Southeast Health.
She was born in Kingston, NY on March 12, 1945, daughter of Margaret and Joseph Hutton.
Her lifelong desire to help others was the reason she chose to go into nursing. Her loyalty to her employer, compassion for her patients, and dedication to her profession made her an exceptional care giver. She was a Certified Registered Oncology Nurse for 30 years. She finished her career working at Southeast Health Medical Center from 2005 to 2011 and had been retired for nine years.
Jeannine loved her family immensely. Her favorite times were building memories with all of them. She enjoyed going out to dinner, playing card games, or just watching a movie with her loved ones. She was a soft and gentle woman who loved people in general and will be sorely missed by all who knew her.
Jeannine is survived by two daughters: Tina Marie Smith, Dothan AL and Tisha Ann Bidak, Phoenix AZ; five sisters: Colleen Stoltzfus, Altamont NY, Eileen Weatherly, Tucson AZ, Rachel Silvers, Brooklyn NY, Jodi Castiglione, Chandler AZ and Iris Wanda, Port Ewen, NY; seven grandchildren; three great children; and one loving fur baby, Dorothy “Dottie”.
A memorial service will be held at a later date.
