Jim Frank Brown

Mr. Jim Frank Brown of Slocomb passed away Monday, August 17, 2020 at his home. He was 82.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, August 20, 2020 in the chapel of Sorrells Funeral Home in Slocomb with Rev. Jim Tate officiating. Entombment will follow in Memory Hill Cemetery and Sorrells Funeral Home of Slocomb directing.

The family will receive friends beginning at 1:00 p.m. and continue until service time.

The family asked that in lieu of flowers contributions be made to your favorite charity.

Mr. Brown was born January 2, 1938 in Geneva County to the late Oscar and Florence Bass Brown. He was a veteran of the United States Army. Jim enjoyed horse training, spent over 20 years with Andrews Tire in Slocomb, and worked in pharmaceutical sales.

In addition to his parents, sister, Ann E. Carpenter; step-daughter, Dianne Hicks, and brother-in-law, Kenneth Crawford all preceded him in death.

Survivors include his wife, Barbara E. Brown; sons: Jeff Brown (Paula), and Joey Brown (Stephanie); grandchildren: Hannah Cummings, Myranda Brown, Justin Brown, Jessica Brown, and Cole Hicks; great grandchildren: Addison Brown, Lily Cummings, and Madyson Brown; step-grandchildren: Jesse Watters, Daniel Watters, and Melissa Delco; sister, Martha B. Crawford; brother-in-law, Eugene Carpenter;  step son-in-law, Carl Hicks; numerous nieces, nephews and other extended family and friends.
