Mr. Eddie James Crawford of Hartford went home to be with the Lord Friday, August 7, 2020 at his home.  He was 63. 

A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, August 15, 2020 in the chapel of Sorrells Funeral Home in Slocomb with Reverend Dennis Snell officiating.  Interment will follow in the Macedonia Cemetery. 

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m. 

Mr. Crawford was born April 19, 1957 in Geneva County to the late Hubert and Lillie Mae Pound Crawford.  Eddie could best be described as a family man who loved his wife, children, grandchildren and entire family.  He was a hard worker and an excellent provider who did all he could to meet the needs of his family.  He was a man of faith and faithful member of Prosperity Missionary Baptist Church in Hartford and played a pivotal role in the community.  He will be dearly missed. 

In addition to his parents, two sisters: Lillian Ivery and Joann Lawson preceded him in death. 

Survivors include his wife of 43 years, Ossie Brown Crawford; sons: Eddie James “Jamey” Crawford II (Regina), Keith Crawford, Joshua Crawford (Iesha), nine grandchildren: Taina Crawford, Jaydencé Crawford, Eddie James “Trey” Crawford III, Armoni Crawford, Kenya Crawford, Kyra Crawford, Jaylin Crawford, Reggie Jones, and Terrance Smith;  three great grandchildren; sisters: Geretha Jeter, and Melinda Ward (John); brothers: Hubert Crawford, Jr. (Lois), Bo Crawford, and Kozell Crawford; goddaughter, Michelle Craig; several nieces, nephews, and other extended family and friends.
