Mrs. Evelyn Joann “Granny” Hall of Hartford passed away Monday, July 27, 2020 at Flowers Hospital. She was 85.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Sunday, August 2, 2020 in the Hartford City Cemetery with Rev. Bryan Carpenter officiating and Sorrells Funeral Home of Slocomb directing.
Mrs. Hall was born May 12, 1935 in Ohio to the late Elmer and Elizabeth Clawsen Swauger. Granny Hall enjoyed playing bingo and spending time with her special friends at the Highway 77 Bingo Hall. She was a loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother who will be dearly missed by her family and friends.
In addition to her parents, husband, John Wesley Chancey; sons: James Earl Bruce and John Wade Bruce; great grandson, Zachary Drew Huthison; sisters: Mary Louise Isenburg, Ethel Jolene “Jo” Kelly Spann, and AnnaBell Swauger; brothers: Pete Swauger, Elmer “Dutch” Swauger, and Vance Swauger all preceded her in death.
Survivors include daughters: Debra Williams, Clayhatchee, Brenda Crawford (Terry), Hartford, and Chantell Thomley (Ross), Hartford; son, Charles Stevens (Connie), Albuquerque, NM; grandchildren: Amanda Goforth (Eric), Bayleigh Bastion (Coltan), Lee Crawford, Courtney Clark (Jason), Ashleigh Knight (Tommy), Monica Hutchison (Tyler), Zane Smith, Tiffany Garcia (Jessie), Justin Bruce, Gordon Bruce, Tyler Bruce, and Nicole Hollifield; 17 great grandchildren; sister, Coramae Steen; several special nieces, nephews, and other extended family and friends.
