Dorothy Eleanor Boggs

Mrs. Dorothy Eleanor Boggs passed away Saturday, February 22, 2020 at Extendicare in Dothan.  She was 95. 

Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday, February 26, 2020 in the chapel of Sorrells Funeral Home in Slocomb with Rev. Alan Bryan officiating. Interment will follow in the Slocomb City Cemetery. 

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday from 2:00 p.m. until service time. 

Mrs. Boggs was born October 3, 1924 in Houston County to the late George Grady and Ludie Mae Benefield Whiddon. Dorothy was a dedicated woman of faith, loved the Lord, and worked hard all of her life.  She was a loving mother and adoring grandmother who will be dearly missed! 

In addition to her parents, her husband, William H. Boggs; siblings: Otis Whiddon, Roland Whiddon, Myra McCrimmon, and Rowena Martin all preceded her in death. 

Survivors include her children: Larry Whiddon (JoAnn), Gayle Cook (Larry), Carol Burch, Charlotte York, Gwen Angelino (Mark), Dianne Welch, Harvey Burch, Jr. (Judy),  Jimmy Burch (Marie), and Michelle Driskell (Ronnie); fourteen grandchildren; nineteen great grandchildren; ten great-great grandchildren; several nieces, nephews, and other extended family and friends. 

The family would like to express their sincere appreciation to the entire staff at Extendicare for the loving care they provided to Mrs. Dorothy during her stay.
