Wendal David Hicks, Jr.

Mr. Wendal David Hicks, Jr. of Chancellor passed away Wednesday, February 6, 2019 at the Medical Center in Enterprise. He was 58. 

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, February 9, 2019 in the chapel of Sorrells Funeral Home in Slocomb with Rev. Jonathan Shepard and Roy Harris officiating. Burial will follow in the Pleasant Hill Baptist Church Cemetery. 

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Saturday beginning at 10:00 a.m. and continuing until service time. 

Mr. Hicks was born May 12, 1960 in Houston County to Sandra Hidle Hicks and the late Wendal Davis Hicks. He was a truck driver and enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. 

He was preceded in death by his father, Wendal Davis Hicks and sister, Darlene Hicks. 

Survivors include his wife, Tanya Hicks; his mother, Sandra Hidle Hicks; 6 daughters: Gerial, Nikki, Beth, Emily, Cindy and Jessica; three sons: Marc, Joe and Jamie; several grandchildren; two sisters: Renee Hicks and Amy Ashmore (Bryan); two brothers: Phillip Hicks (Shelia) and Jimmy Hicks (Ronda); numerous nieces, nephews and other extended family and friends.
