Juanita Dunn Tew

Mrs. Juanita Dunn Tew of Slocomb passed away Sunday, January 20, 2019 at Flowers Hospital. She was 91. 

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, January 24, 2019 at New Teamon Baptist Church with Rev. Lee Chorn officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery with Sorrells Funeral Home in Slocomb directing. 

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m.

Mrs. Tew was born January 15, 1928 in Geneva County to the late James Willis and Lena Mae Ayers Dunn. She was married to the love of her life for 73 years, James Grover Tew. Mrs. Tew was a member of New Teamon Baptist Church. She was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and great-great grandmother who loved spending time with her family and friends. 

In addition to her parents, her husband, James Grover Tew; brother, Rudolph Dunn; sisters: Elouise Freeman and Ouida Ortageas; son-in-law, Rev. Huey Hughes; all preceded her in death. 

Survivors include two daughters: Shirley Hughes, Slocomb and Kathleen Silvers (Carl), Newton; two sons: Roger Tew (Gladys), Slocomb and Terry Tew (Debbie), Slocomb; 15 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren; 15 great-great grandchildren; several nieces, nephews and other extended family and friends.
