Mr. Willie Junior Wilbanks of Elba, formerly of Hartford, passed away Sunday, November 11, 2018 at his home surrounded by his loving family. He was 63.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, November 14, 2018 in the chapel of Sorrells Funeral Home in Slocomb with Rev. Les Lee and Rev. Randy Dunn officiating. Interment will follow in the Hartford City Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Tuesday from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. At other times the family will be at the home of Larry and Jessica Wilbanks on Hwy 103 in Wicksburg. Mr. Wilbanks was born August 22, 1955 in Morgan County to the late Willie Paul and Beulah Nae Carber Wilbanks. Willie was very outgoing and never met a stranger. He worked many years in the trucking and roofing industries. Willie enjoyed fishing, spending time outdoors, and was an avid Alabama Football fan. In addition to his parents, brothers: David Ray Wilbanks, Earnest Glenn Wilbanks, and Johnny Lee Wilbanks all preceded him in death. Survivors include his wife, Tina Marie Wilbanks; mother-in-law, Ruth Tompkins; daughters: Sharon Wilbanks, Jessica Byrd (Willie), and Heather Garrard; sons: Willie James Wilbanks (Tracie), Larry Wilbanks (Jessica), Danny Wilbanks (Nikki), and Jeffery Haney; sixteen grandchildren, three great grandchildren; sisters: Mary Bowden (Webb Holloway), and Nancy Shelley; several nieces, nephews and other extended family and friends.
