Mrs. Sandra Kay Payne of Wicksburg went home to be with the Lord Tuesday, September 25, 2018 at Flowers Hospital. She was 71. 

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, September 28, 2018 at Pilgrim Home Baptist Church with Rev. Buddy Hood and Rev. Jerry Grandstaff officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery with Sorrells Funeral Home of Slocomb directing. 

The family will receive friends at the church on Friday beginning at 1:00 p.m. and continuing until service time. 

Mrs. Payne was born April 21, 1947 in Dale County to the late Saxton Bay and Betty Jean Windham Turner. Kay retired from Sears with over 40 years of service. She enjoyed gardening, bowling, and spending time at the beach. Kay was a loving wife, wonderful sister and greatly adored her nieces and nephews. She will be dearly missed! 

In addition to her parents, husband, Mike Payne, niece, Kesha Turner Kratz, and brother-in-law, Ronnie Childs all preceded her in death. 

Survivors include her sister, Sue Childs, Phenix City; brother, Charles Dicky Turner (Debbie), Wicksburg; niece, Rhonda Amoroso (Billy); nephews: Greg Childs (Dana), and Blake Turner (Corie); great nieces: Chandler Amoroso, Allie Amoroso, Brooke Childs, and Baylen Childs; great nephew, William Amoroso; several aunts, cousins, and other extended family and friends whom she loved deeply.
