Mrs. Katie Jane Hall of Slocomb passed away Friday August 24, 2018 at SAMC. She was 79. 

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, August 27, 2018 at Union Hill Free Will Baptist Church with Rev. Wayne Parker and Rev. Robert Risner officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery with Sorrells Funeral Home of Slocomb directing.  The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Sunday afternoon from 3:00 until 5:00 p.m.  Mrs. Hall was born October 13, 1938 in Dekalb County, Alabama to the late Thomas Jefferson and Mamie Ruth Robinson Westbrook.  Katie was a dedicated servant of Christ, lived out her faith faithfully, and instilled good wholesome values in her children.  She was a seamstress and lovingly sewed her children’s clothes for every occasion. She enjoyed quilting, crocheting, and eating sweets!  Katie will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.  In addition to her parents, her husband, Allen R. Hall and several siblings preceded her in death.  Survivors include four daughters: Mary Jane Anderson (John), Hartford, Judy Hall Gerhardt (Paul) Mobile, Phyllis S. Bass (Sammy), Fadette and Wanda Kay Risner (Robert), Slocomb; one son, Jimmy A. Hall, Slocomb; siblings: Tody Derrick, Ruby McGee, Wilda Stevens, Opal Moss, and James T. Westbrook (Marie); several grandchildren; great grandchildren; nieces, nephews; and other extended family and friends.
