Sister Lillie "June" Crawford of Hartford passed away Thursday morning, May 24, 2018 at her home surrounded by her loving family. She was 88. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, June 1, 2018 in the Living Waters Church of God In Christ, 190 McLeod Drive, Hartford, AL with Sister Crawford's pastor, Rev. Pamela Edwards officiating. Sis. Crawford's nephew, Rev. Vernon McLeod will deliver the eulogy. Burial will follow in the Hartford City Cemetery with Sorrells Funeral Home of Slocomb directing. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday May 31, 2018 from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. Sister Crawford was born August 19, 1929 in Skipperville, AL to the late Clifford and Flara Pounds. Lillie Mae loved the Lord, her family and anybody that she met. She was a "People Person", loved meeting and talking to people. She also enjoyed going fishing where she has been known to fish with three poles; she would hold one in each hand and put her foot on the other one. Lillie Mae loved to cook and always had a pot on the stove for anybody that needed something to eat. When her church had "Potluck Dinners" she would bring a full course meal. She was a devoted member of Bethel A.M.E. Church, Hartford, AL where she served as the Missionary President for many years, she sang in the choir and served on the Stewardess Board. In addition to her parents, her husband, Hubert Crawford Sr.; daughter, Lillian Ivery; granddaughter, Marsha Lawson; sisters: Clara Cole and Vernell McLeod all preceded her in death. She leaves a lifetime of memories with her children: Hubert Crawford (Lois), William "Bo" Crawford, Joann Lawson, Eddie Crawford (Ossie), Kozell Crawford, Geretha Jeter (Twaine) and Melinda Ward (John); sister, Dora Hughes (Nelson); niece/caregiver, Deborah Artis; grandson/caregiver, Anthony Reese; 34 grandchildren; 44 great-grandchildren; 16 great-great-grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and The Bethel A.M.E. Church family.
