Mrs. Virginia Ann White Cheshire of Hartford went home to be with the LORD, Monday, April 16, 2018 at Westside Terrace surrounded by her loving family. She was 87.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, April 19, 2018 at St. Paul United Methodist Church with Rev. Chip Oakley and Rev. Johnny Belcher officiating.  Interment will follow in the Hartford City Cemetery with Sorrells Funeral Home & Crematory of Slocomb directing. 

The family will receive friends at the funeral home Wednesday from 5:00 - 7:00 p.m.

Mrs. Cheshire was born February 19, 1931 in Geneva County to the late Roy and Lucille Boyett White.  Virginia was a great woman of faith who loved the Lord and her family deeply.  She was an active member of St. Paul United Methodist Church. She was a loving wife, adoring mother and grandmother and will be profoundly missed. 

In addition to her parents, her husband of 57 years, Berman Gene Cheshire; a granddaughter, Lindsay Hope McGowan; a sister, Tina Mae Enfinger all preceded her in death. 

Survivors include daughters: Sara Burch (Larry), Dothan, Shirley McGowan (David), Black; son,  Sammy Cheshire, Hartford; grandsons: Brad Burch (Gretchen), Hartford and Clay Burch (Kim), Lynn Haven, FL; granddaughter,  Christan McCollough (Ron), Geneva; great-grandchildren:  Jacob, Matthew, Michael and James Burch, Makayla Burch, Addison Enfinger, Jace McCollough and Peyton McCollough; several nieces and nephews and other extended family and friends. 

The family would like to express their heartfelt appreciation to the staff of Westside Terrace and the Davita Dialysis Clinic  for the love and care shown to Mrs. Cheshire during her illness.
