Mrs. Gloria Jean Howell Knoebel of Daleville passed away Monday, May 22, 2017 at Mizell Memorial Hospital in Opp. She was 72.
Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, May 28, 2017 in the chapel of Sorrells Funeral Home & Crematory Chapel in Slocomb with Reverend Jason Johnson officiating. Interment will follow in Memory Hill Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home Sunday beginning at 1:00 p.m. and continuing until service time.
Mrs. Knoebel was born August 19, 1944 in Geneva County. Gloria loved the Lord and attended Daleville Baptist Church. She was a loving mother and adoring grandmother who will be profoundly missed.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Mable Howell Bracewell; one brother, Roy Howell and a grandson, John Bushey Jr.
Survivors include two daughters: Kenya Engmann (Nicholas) of North Dakota and Tenya Barron (Charles) of Sycamore, Alabama; two sons: Lee Knoebel (Tracy), Daleville and Michael Vickers (Sandra), Virginia; eleven grandchildren; one great grandchild; two sisters: Patricia Broome (Denny), Ozark and Marie Coach, Daleville; special friend/sister, Glenda Himes, Slocomb; nieces, nephews and other extended family and friends.
The family wishes to thank the doctors and nurses at Mizell Memorial Hospital as well as the staff of Opp Health and Rehabilitation.
