Mr. James Franklin White of Dothan passed away Monday, December 26 at his home. He was 83. 

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, December 29, 2016 in the chapel of Sorrells Funeral Home & Crematory in Slocomb with Rev. Steve Bouroughs    officiating. Burial will follow in the Shiloh Baptist Church Cemetery. 

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday, beginning at 11:00 a.m. and continuing until service time.

Mr. White was born December 17, 1933 in Geneva County to the late Lummie T. and Mary Ruth Leddon White. After many years of proudly serving his country in the United States Army he retired. He then began working with the Security Office/Civil Service where he also retired. James served as a Master Mason Sgt. at Arms. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather who will be dearly missed. 

In addition to his parents, his son, Ricky Gene White and brother, Josie O. White preceded him in death. 

Survivors include his wife of 61 years, Annie Ruth Sanders White, Dothan; daughter, Vickie Susan Weems (Dennis), Ashford; daughter-in-law, Dawne Sanders White, Bowdon, GA; four grandchildren: Monica Faust (Jimmy), Matthew White, Nicole Irizarry and Aleisha White Morgan; five great-grandchild: Taina, Lauren, Hunter, Sawyer and Gia; sister, Melba Ruth Rush (Ron), Dothan; two brothers: Kenneth Lamar White (Earline), Dothan and Eldridge White (Annette), Graceville, FL; several nieces, nephews and other extended family and friends.
