Mr. Charles Edward Lindsey of Hartford passed away Wednesday, November 9, 2016 at Signature Health Care of North Florida. He was 81.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, November 12, 2016 at Shiloh Baptist Church with Rev. Ricky Hall and Rev. Bill Hart officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery with Sorrells Funeral Home & Crematory of Slocomb directing.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m.
Mr. Lindsey was born July 1, 1935 in Geneva County to the late Daniel Thomas and Lela Bell Wood Lindsey. Charles worked at Ft. Rucker in helicopter maintenance for 36 years, before his retirement. He was known everywhere for his great sense of humor and was always "carrying on". At Ft. Rucker he was known as "Crazy Charlie". He was a member of Shiloh Baptist Church.
In addition to his parents, three sisters: Ethel Martin, Nell Mosley and Ruth Isler; six brothers: Jack Lindsey, Clayton "Clate" Lindsey, Bill Lindsey, Wilson "Wilk" Lindsey, Allen Lindsey and Ray Lindsey all preceded him in death.
Survivors include his wife, JoAnn Peterson Lindsey, Hartford; one daughter, Lisa Frazier (Sonny), Hartford; one son, Jeffrey Lindsey, Hartford; four grandchildren: Madyson, Macy and Grayson Frazier all of Hartford and Amanda Frazier, St. Peters, MO; one great-granddaughter Aria Frazier; one sister, Janie Zigler, Panama City, FL; special nephew, Harold Martin (Ruby), Lakeland, FL; several nieces, nephews and other extended family and friends.

Joann I am so sorry to learn of Charles passing. I miss seeing ya'll on trips and eating out at the same restaurants like Circle Grill. Those are good times that you will have to cherish and so many more from the years you were married and even before that time.
