Mrs. Mozell Tew Kent, 87, of Dothan, Alabama, passed away October 13, 2016, at Enterprise Health and Rehabilitation Center in Enterprise, Alabama.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, October 18, 2016 in the chapel of Sorrells Funeral Home & Crematory in Slocomb, Alabama, with Reverend Billy Rich officiating. Interment will follow at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Monday from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m.

Mrs. Kent was born in Slocomb to the late Clarence and Ida Tew on September 7, 1929. Mozell attended school at Slocomb High School and went on to earn a bachelors degree at Wallace Community College. She enjoyed movies, reading, bowling, fishing, and Alabama Crimson Tide football. Above all else, she loved spending time with her family. She traveled as far as Germany, Spain, Korea and Alaska to visit her son when he was in the Air Force. She also flew many times to Reno, Nevada to visit her grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, two brothers: Clifton and Grover Tew and a sister, Gladys Chavis, preceded her in death.
She is survived by her husband, Bernice (B.E.) Kent; son, Dennis Kent; two grandchildren: Dominique and Jonathan Kent; brothers: Clinton and Grady Tew; sisters: Flora Roach and Onis Smith; and many nieces and nephews.
The family wishes to extend their gratitude to Amy Johnson and Liz Assumpcao at Enterprise Health and Rehabilitation Center for their support in Mozell’s final days.
